Trump calls Waffle House hero three weeks after shooting
President Trump spoke by phone with Waffle House hero James Shaw Jr. Monday morning “to commend his heroic actions and quick thinking last month,” White House spokesman Raj Shah said.
Shaw jumped in and grabbed the gun away from the gunman at the Nashville restaurant April 22.
Four people were killed and two suffered gunshot wounds in the bloodbath before Shaw leaped into action.
A suspect was captured a day later, ending a 34-hour manhunt.
