Comey takes a swipe at Trump in plug for new book
Former FBI Director James Comey tweeted on Sunday that he wrote in his new book about two presidents who represent “ethical leadership” and one who does not.
“My book is about ethical leadership & draws on stories from my life & lessons I learned from others. 3 presidents are in my book: 2 help illustrate the values at the heart of ethical leadership; 1 serves as a counterpoint,” he wrote on his Twitter account. “I hope folks read the whole thing and find it useful.”
He did not mention President Trump, who earlier Sunday tore into Comey in a series of tweets calling the former G-man a “slimeball,” “not smart” and saying he’ll be remembered as the “WORST FBI director in history.”
Comey, whose “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership” comes out Tuesday, worked at the FBI for three presidents — George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
He was fired by Trump in May 2017.
In the book, Comey offers a scathing review of Trump and his presidency.
He calls Trump “untethered to the truth” is “ego-driven” and runs the White House like a “mob boss.”
